R341 Bulldog Dwarfism (ACAN) – Zebu

ACAN-related dwarfism, also known as Bulldog calf syndrome, is a genetic skeletal disorder caused by a mutation in the aggrecan (ACAN) gene on chromosome 21. The condition affects the development of cartilage and bone, resulting in severe, disproportionate skeletal dwarfism. The Zebu-associated variant is inherited as an autosomal recessive trait, and affected homozygous foetuses are typically lethal.
