Pathogens pose a significant threat to the maturation of field crops, fruits, and ornamentals. We provide genotyping services for screening programs aimed at detecting crops resistant to common pathogens such as the tomato mosaic virus (TM2a).
Through collaboration with our partners, amongst others Spark Genetics (the Netherlands), we have developed and validated high-quality DNA markers for a selection of resistance genes. While our initial focus has been on tomatoes, we continuously develop markers for other species as well. The predictability of the markers depends on the germplasm provided by the client. Additional validation and research and development may be necessary before large-scale screening services can be conducted.
