Fish Milk (also known as Fish Odour Syndrome or Trimethylaminuria) is an unusual metabolic disorder, found mostly in Red And White cattle from Sweden, that results in increased levels of trimethylamine (TMA) in the body. TMA smells strongly of rotten fish, and cattle with Trimethylaminuria may produce milk with an unpleasant fishy taste and smell. The disorder is caused by a recessive mutation to the gene FMO3.
